چکیده
Diabetes is a life-threatening disease, and currently available synthetic medicines for treating diabetes are associated with various side effects. Therefore, there an unmet need to develop herbal remedies against as alternative medicines. Although local healers use the roots of Spermadicyton suaveolens (SS) manage diabetes, negligible research validate its antidiabetic properties. The present investigation aims assess antioxidant, antidiabetic, antihyperlipidemic potential ethanolic extract S. Suaveolen’s (EESS) on streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. was screened in vitro antioxidant activity. vivo EESS (at 200 400 mg/kg) studied STZ-induced rats 20 days. displayed significant (p<0.05) administration mg/kg significantly reduced hyperglycemia, restored enzymes lipid profile-a high density lipoprotein (HDL) increased by single dose streptozotocin. Thus, could be promising medicine treatment hyperlipidemia.

Stephania hernandifolia (Menispermaceae) is a medicinal plant, used by herbalists for treating various diseases, one of which is diabetes mellitus, in Darjeeling. However, its antidiabetic activity has not been scientifically investigated so far. The aim of this study, therefore, is to investigate the antidiabetic and antioxidant potential of the powdered corm of Stephania hernandifolia. This w...
متن کاملAntidiabetic and Antioxidant Properties of Triticum aestivum in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats
The antidiabetic and antioxidant potential of Triticum aestivum were evaluated by using in vivo methods in normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced in the Wistar strain albino rats by injecting streptozotocin at a dose of 55 mg/kg body weight. Ethanolic extracts of Triticum aestivum at doses of 100 mg/kg body weight were administered orally for 30 days. Various para...
متن کاملComputation of In Vivo Antidiabetic Activity of Holarrhena Antidysenterica Seeds Extracts in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats
Medicinal plants have curative properties due to the presence of various complex chemical compositions, which are found as secondary plant metabolites in one or more parts of the plant. The aim of this study was to compute the antidiabetic activity of Holarrhena antidysenterica seeds extract in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The experimental protocol designed as animals were divided i...

In the present work the antidiabetic activity of the Mallotus philippinensis was evaluated. The hydroethanolic bark extract showed significant increase in the levels of body weight, insulin and significant decrease in blood glucose, and glycosylated haemoglobin when administered orally for 30 days to STZ induced diabetic rats at a dose of 200 and 400mg/kg body weight. Phytochemical studies also...
